Everyone understands the importance of a great culture. You start out with the best of intentions, but then something else comes along. Perseverance does not come easy. Actually, it all boils down to the permanent top items on the monthly team meeting agenda and the conformation of performance appraisal standard forms. So, in all humility, here are some culture setting questions: Which questions do you ask your co-workers when you’re “out there”? What do you emphasize at meetings? What and who do you reward? How do you practically, on a daily basis, live the common values and principles? Do you keep your hands to yourself regarding details? Are your guiding principles somewhat overlooked during harsh times? Do you share the same future picture with the ones you are interacting with? And then we have the KPI’s.
